Genesis 15:1
KJV—After these things the word of the
Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying,
Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy
exceeding great reward.
Amp—After these things the word of the
Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying,
Fear not, Abram, I am your shield, your
abundant compensation, and your reward
shall be exceedingly great.
Moffatt—After this the Eternal said to
Abram in a vision, “Fear not, Abram, I will
shield you. Rich your reward shall be.”
NIV—After this, the word of the Lord
came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be
afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very
great reward.”
Deuteronomy 2:7
KJV—For the Lord thy God hath blessed
thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth
thy walking through this great wilderness:
these forty years the Lord thy God hath
been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.
Amp—For the Lord your God has blessed
you in all the work of your hand; He knows
your walking through this great wilderness;
these forty years the Lord your God has
been with you; you have lacked nothing.
Moffatt—For the Eternal your God has
always blessed your enterprise. Think how
his care brought you through this wide
desert; the Eternal your God has been with
you all these forty years, and never have
you been in want.
NIV—The Lord your God has blessed you
in all the work of your hands. He has
watched over your journey through this
vast desert. These forty years the Lord
your God has been with you, and you have
not lacked anything.
Deuteronomy 8:7-10
KJV—For the Lord thy God bringeth thee
into a good land, a land of brooks of water,
of fountains and depths that spring out of
valleys and hills; A land of wheat, and barley,
and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates;
a land of oil olive, and honey; A land
wherein thou shalt eat bread without
scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in
it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of
whose hills thou mayest dig brass. When
thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt
bless the Lord thy God for the good land
which he hath given thee.
Amp—For the Lord your God is bringing
you into a good land, a land of brooks of
water, of fountains and springs, flowing
forth in valleys and hills; A land of wheat
and barley, and vines and fig trees and
pomegranates, a land of olive trees and
honey, A land in which you shall eat food
without shortage, and lack nothing in it, a
land whose stones are iron, and out of
whose hills you can dig copper. When you
have eaten and are full, then you shall bless
the Lord your God for all the good land
which He has given you.
NIV—For the Lord your God is bringing
you into a good land—a land with streams
and pools of water, with springs flowing in
the valleys and hills; a land with wheat and
barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates,
olive oil and honey; a land where bread will
not be scarce and you will lack nothing; a
land where the rocks are iron and you can
dig copper out of the hills. When you have
eaten and are satisfied, praise the Lord your
God for the good land he has given you.
